Description
The ideal knife for precision cutting
The Wusaki Sakin 9cm paring knife is perfect for small everyday tasks. Its compact blade lets you peel, pare or cut with precision. It's a must-have for meticulous prep work. Thanks to its small size, it's easy to handle right up close to the food. It's just as comfortable on a board as it is cutting in hand.
A blade built for meticulous work
The 9cm blade is ideal for precise cutting. It lets you peel fruit and vegetables or easily remove blemishes. Its compact size offers excellent control. Its 10Cr15CoMoV stainless steel core contains around 1.05% carbon. This alloy ensures a long-lasting edge and good resistance to corrosion. The 60 HRC hardness guarantees good edge retention. On top of that, the Damascus finish adds real visual appeal.
An elegant handle that catches the eye
The handle is made of resin with carbon fiber and flakes of gold leaf. The name Sakin means "gold dust". Every handle therefore has a unique look. The resin resists moisture and offers a comfortable grip, while the carbon fibers reinforce the overall strength. The golden inclusions add an original, refined touch. Its Western shape ensures a natural grip. The scales are fixed with two stainless steel rivets and a brass mosaic rivet, and the bolster and base are made of stainless steel.
Wusaki's expertise and care tips
Wusaki knives are made by a small workshop located north of Canton, in China's Guangdong province. This region has a long tradition in the making of knives and cutting tools. Production relies on well-controlled methods and a careful selection of raw materials.
Wusaki's expertise is governed by French manufacturing standards designed for professionals in the trade. This approach makes it possible to offer knives that are reliable, well assembled and suited to regular use. Every model aims for the right balance between cutting performance, comfort and durability.
To keep your Wusaki kitchen knife in top condition, hand-wash it only, using a soft sponge and a neutral soap. Dry the blade carefully once you're done, to avoid any lingering moisture.

Care & sharpening
Care & sharpening
Use
- Cut with a straight, linear motion. Twisting motions damage the cutting edge and can break the blade.
- Use a wooden cutting board. Glass or marble dull the cutting edge over time.
Cleaning
- Wash by hand with a soft sponge and mild soap, then rinse with lukewarm water. Abrasive surfaces are not suitable for the steel.
- Oil the blade from time to time with a neutral mineral oil to protect it.
Sharpening
- Don't wait until the blade is completely dull: regular maintenance on a 1000-grit whetstone keeps an excellent cutting edge without removing too much material.
- Match the whetstone's grit to the condition of the blade — coarse grit to restore a very dull edge, fine grit to polish.
