Easy, enjoyable cutting
The Wusaki Damascus 10Cr knives are as good-looking as they are capable. They bring together every advantage you want in your kitchen: performance, ergonomics, durability and style. Their elegant look catches the eye instantly, thanks to their originality and excellent finish.
The case contains:
- 1 paring knife 9cm
- 1 utility knife 12cm
- 1 santoku knife with granton edge 17cm
- 1 carving knife 20cm
- 1 chef's knife 20cm
Long-lasting sharpness
Made from 10Cr steel and hand-polished to a razor-sharp finish, every knife in this case holds its edge 2 to 3 times longer than a European steel blade. Every one of our knives gets a manual V-shaped sharpening on a leather strop, for a perfect cut from the very first use!
Top-tier technical specifications
The DAMASCUS 10Cr knives have a steel blade with a hardness of 60 HRC and a 10Cr steel core (1% carbon). This high-grade Japanese steel is far harder than most premium Western knives. We chose this steel for its outstanding properties and unmatched longevity.
A unique design that will win you over
The blade is made up of 67 layers of Damascus, unique to every knife, along with hammering across the entire upper part of the cutting surface. The noble olive wood handle matters just as much as the blades: original grain, a stunning design and guaranteed comfort.
Finally, the Japanese character engraved on the butt of each handle adds a further touch of prestige and a truly original style to your knives.
Wusaki knives come out of a small workshop just north of Canton, capital of China's Guangdong province in the west of the country. That region has long been known for its skill in steel knife-making. Good relations between France and China let us find a serious, human-scale partner, much like our own team. Every step of Wusaki's craft follows the French manufacturing standards set for professionals in the trade. We are proud to have built reliable, beautifully finished tools at a genuinely fair price for our customers.
Every handle is unique: colors, grain and pattern shift with the section of wood each one is cut from. Some areas come out darker than others — often because of a knot in the wood. That's entirely normal, not a flaw.
Wash by hand, then dry with a soft cloth. Never let the handle get too wet, even when washing it. You can occasionally wipe the handle with a cloth soaked in olive oil to help protect the wood.
An ideal case for easy, comfortable transport
It is made from black polyester: sturdy, lightweight and durable.
It has 9 slots, 13cm long, for the handles of your knives or utensils. Each slot is closed with a small elastic band to hold everything in place. A Velcro strap across the top locks down the longest knives and utensils.
A polyester flap folds over the top for maximum protection of your equipment. It's fully covered, so opening the case never puts your fingers right up against the blades. This flap was cleverly designed with 2 extra storage pockets built into it. You can slip in, say, an apron, a phone charger, a small notebook... The case rolls up on itself.
Size when open: 48 cm (H) x 60 cm (W)
Size when closed: 12 cm (H) x 48.5 cm (W)
Care & sharpening
Care & sharpening
Use
- Cut with a straight, linear motion. Twisting motions damage the cutting edge and can break the blade.
- Use a wooden cutting board. Glass or marble dull the cutting edge over time.
Cleaning
- Wash by hand with a soft sponge and mild soap, then rinse with lukewarm water. Abrasive surfaces are not suitable for the steel.
- Oil the blade from time to time with a neutral mineral oil to protect it.
Sharpening
- Don't wait until the blade is completely dull: regular maintenance on a 1000-grit whetstone keeps an excellent cutting edge without removing too much material.
- Match the whetstone's grit to the condition of the blade — coarse grit to restore a very dull edge, fine grit to polish.
