Description
The everyday essential
The Wusaki Pakka X50 paring knife brings together some of the best materials found in both Japanese and Western cutlery. It lets you handle real quality every day and feel completely at ease with every cut, without giving up on style. An investment that pays for itself quickly.
Effortless, intuitive cutting
Its blade is made from a professional German stainless steel, widely used by German knife-makers. This is X50CrMoV15, with a Rockwell hardness of 56/58 HRC. It keeps its edge for a long time while still being easy to maintain when needed, quickly and without effort. Ground into a V-shape on an abrasive leather strop, the cutting edge is sharpened to perfection at a 30° angle: penetration into food is clean, precise and effortless.
Premium materials working for performance
The blade steel is enriched with molybdenum and vanadium, and carries a chromium content of 15%. The result is a knife that resists both corrosion and impact. It's a safe bet for everyday cooking, all the more so since it's hammered in a unique pattern to boost its non-stick properties. The handle is made of Pakkawood, a composite material that stands up well to sudden temperature changes, bacteria and humidity.
A breathtaking design
The mix of materials and colors makes the Wusaki Pakka X50 knife both original and elegant. Just one glance at the blade's distinctive hammering and the warm tones of the handle is enough to see it. There's no compromise with Wusaki: every piece is worth a closer look.
Wusaki knives come out of a small workshop just north of Canton, capital of China’s Guangdong province in the west of the country. That region has long been known for its skill in steel knife-making. Good relations between France and China let us find a serious, human-scale partner, much like our own team. Every step of Wusaki’s craft follows the French manufacturing standards set for professionals in the trade. We are proud to have built a reliable, beautifully finished tool at a genuinely fair price for our customers.

Care & sharpening
Care & sharpening
Use
- Cut with a straight, linear motion. Twisting motions damage the cutting edge and can break the blade.
- Use a wooden cutting board. Glass or marble dull the cutting edge over time.
Cleaning
- Wash by hand with a soft sponge and mild soap, then rinse with lukewarm water. Abrasive surfaces are not suitable for the steel.
- Oil the blade from time to time with a neutral mineral oil to protect it.
Sharpening
- Don't wait until the blade is completely dull: regular maintenance on a 1000-grit whetstone keeps an excellent cutting edge without removing too much material.
- Match the whetstone's grit to the condition of the blade — coarse grit to restore a very dull edge, fine grit to polish.
