This set includes 3 knives from the Wusaki Damas VG10 series : 1 santoku knife scalloped edge 17cm, 1 utility knife 12cm, and 1 paring knife 9cm. They are as beautiful as they are efficient, and they have all the qualities that you can expect to find in a good kitchen knife: ergonomic, durable, and impressive design. Their originality, elegance, and dazzling look guarantee love at first sight.
The blades have a Japanese VG10 steel core and are polished by hand until each blade gets a razor sharp edge. This type of steel helps these knives remain sharp 2 to 3 times longer than knives made with European steel. Each knife from this series undergoes V-shaped sharpening done by hand with the use of a grinding band of leather so that you can make perfect cuts since the very first time!
The steel used in all Damas Olive knives has a hardness level of 60 HRC and a VG10 steel core with 1% carbon content. This high quality Japanese steel is much harder than the one that is found in most of premium Western knives. We've chosen this type of steel thanks to its remarkable durability and excellent characteristics, which are worthy of top quality cutlery.
All Damas VG10 knives have blades with 67 layers of damask steel (unique on each knife) as well as an original, hammered surface on the top part of the blade.
Matching perfectly with the beauty of the blade, the handle has an astonishing design and comfortable grip. It is made of noble olive wood.
Last but not least, the Japanese character engraved at the bottom of the handle provides the perfect, final touch of originality.
Wusaki knives are made in a small factory located in the north of Canton; the capital city of the Guangdong province in Western China. This province is historically known for its know-how in the production of steel knives. The good relations between France and China allowed us to find a serious partner with a human-size structure like ours. The expertise of Wusaki is entirely governed by the French manufacturing standards established by the professionals in the field. We are proud to have succeeded in the creation of a reliable work tool with a superb design and at a great price for our customers.
Wash by hand and dry with a soft cloth. Avoid to wet the handle as much as possible, even when washing the knife. Once in a while, you can wipe the handle with a cloth slightly soaked in olive oil to protect the wood.
