More info

The sharpening stone that every cook needs

Thanks to its 2 in 1 design, this whetstone is truly functional and effective. It can be used for both Japanese and Western types of kitchen knives. Let us add that it comes with a black silicone base that serves to hold the stone and thus guarantee a safe and stable usage. How often this whetstone should be used is something that varies depending on the conditions of your kitchen knives.

Red side with grains 600: when a blade starts to be blunt

This side is ideal for the initial sharpening of a knife with a blade that starts to become blunt. The grains are abrasive enough to sand the edge of the blade and thus clean all the imperfections. When a knife starts to become blunt, you should always start by using this type of grains before using a fine grit.

White side with grains 1000: regular maintainance

It is perfect for regular usage, because it allows you to maintain your blade with a good cutting performance without letting it become blunt. Using this type of grains in a regular basis prevents you from having to use more abrasive grains that remove more material from the blade's edge. It is a great complement for the grains 600 as it finishes its initial sharpening.

Anyone can learn to use this whetstone

It needs to be soaked in water 15 minutes before usage. Next, you need to place the blade's edge against the stone's surface leaving a space equivalent to a coin in between the blade's body and the stone. Then, you start doing sway movements across the whetstone's surface applying just a light pressure. Don't forget that to get complete results, you need to do this on both sides of the blade. Dimensions : (L) 18 x (W) 6 x (H) 3cm.
