The utility knife from the Wusaki Damas V10 series is as beautiful as it is efficient. It has all the qualities that you can expect to find in a good kitchen knife: ergonomic, durable, and impressive design. Thanks to its originality and its elegance, the dazzling look of this knife will make any cook fall in love at first sight.
Made with a Japanese VG10 steel core that is polished by hand until it gets a razor sharp edge, this utility knife remains sharp 2 to 3 times longer than a knife made with European steel. Each knife from the Damas VG10 series undergoes a V-shaped sharpening done by hand with the use of a grinding band of leather so that you can make perfect cuts since the very first time!
The blade of this DAMAS VG10 utility knife is made of a steel that has a hardness level of 60 HRC and a VG10 steel core with 1% carbon content. This high quality Japanese steel is much harder than the one that is found in most of the so-called best Western knives. It is thanks to its excellent characteristics and its remarkable durability that we have chosen this steel for all the knives for the Damas Olive range.
The unique wavy lines visible on the blade are caused by 67 layers of damask steel. Another original characteristic is the hammered top surface of the blade.
Equally important as the blade, the handle is made of noble olive wood characterised for its veinings, its astonishing design, and a comfortable grip.
Finally, the Japanese character engraved at the bottom of the handle provides that final touch of cachet to a truly special knife.
Wusaki knives are made in a small factory located in the north of Canton; the capital city of the Guangdong province in Western China. This province is historically known for its know-how in the production of steel knives. The good relations between France and China allowed us to find a serious partner with a human-size structure like ours. The expertise of Wusaki is entirely governed by the French manufacturing standards established by the professionals in the field. We are proud to have succeeded in the creation of a reliable work tool with a superb design and at a great price for our customers.
Wash by hand and dry with a soft cloth. Avoid to wet the handle as much as possible, even when washing the knife. Once in a while, you can wipe the handle with a cloth slightly soaked in olive oil to protect the wood.
